Interesting Times

Many years ago I was having lunch at a Chinese restaurant in New Jersey, while on a business trip, and I found what I thought was an unusual fortune in my post-meal crunchy cookie.  It read:

Ancient Chinese Curse:  May you live in interesting times.

Over the ten+ years since that day, I have joked about that fortune many times.  Now, I have decided to use it as the title for the third book in the Mountain Majesty Series, Interesting Times.

Out of curiosity, I recently googled that saying to see if it is indeed considered an "ancient Chinese curse".  Surprisingly, there is an entire Wikipedia page and a number of articles dedicated to this "curse".  The "experts" do not seem to agree that it was ever an ancient curse, and even have some evidence that the saying originated around the early 1900s.  Interesting, indeed!

What do you think about the idea of curses?  Personally, I don't believe in them, but I think the concept fits in well and makes a great title for my next book.

I'm still working on finishing the story, but here's a little hint:  Maj and Daniel travel to the Bahamas for a restful vacation, but get more than they bargained for.  Murders, muggings, and general mayhem, both in the Bahamas and back in Colorado, make for a lot of Interesting Times.
